Step-by-step setup
Find the MAC address
It is printed underneath the box, or shown under Settings, About device. On a MAG it starts 00:1A:79. Send it over on WhatsApp.
MAG: enter the portal URL
Go to Settings, System settings, Servers, Portals. Set the Portal 1 name to TrimixIPTV, paste in the portal URL we sent, save, then restart the box for it to apply.
Formuler: use MyTVOnline
Open MyTVOnline 2 or 3, choose Add Portal, and give it a name plus the portal URL. Or choose Xtream Codes and use your ordinary login. Formuler boxes run Android apps too, so TiViMate is available if you prefer it.
Watch
After the restart the 25,000+ channels load with the built-in guide. The coloured remote buttons handle favourites and the guide, which is considerably quicker than working through menus.
Common errors and fixes
Portal shows "STB blocked" or a blank screen
Either the MAC is not yet activated against your account, or a character was mistyped when you sent it. Photograph the label rather than retyping it and send the picture; it is normally fixed within minutes.

Is a MAG box better than a Firestick for IPTV?
A MAG or Formuler box gives a better remote, a faster guide and no sideloading, at $120 to $180. A Firestick costs $30 to $50 and does nearly the same job. The sensible split in most houses is a box on the main television and sticks everywhere else.
